The staff at Whites Road Physiotherapy & Sport Injury Clinic are thorough and dedicated to their patients. We use our extensive knowledge and skills for the improvement of injuries and overall health. Despite being based in Pickering, our doctors and therapists have diverse backgrounds of education, having gained their comprehensive experience in various locations around the world. Among our manual therapy and sports therapy staff, we even have a member with an Australian Master’s degree in sports injuries.

Abbas Varamini
B.Sc., M.Sc., D.Sc. (PT), D.O. (MP)

Abbas has extensive knowledge and experience in physical therapy, sport injuries, and osteopathy manual practices. In 1998, he received his Master’s of Applied Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Sydney, focusing on sports and manipulative therapy. His thesis reviewed the effect of exercise training in diabetes patients. Abbas then received his doctorate in physical therapy in 2010 from Andrew’s University, where he completed courses in manipulative therapy, sports therapy, nutrition, and holistic healing. His research involved comparing dynamic postural balance in patients having undergone a hysterectomy and the normal population. In 2010 Abbas also completed a 5 year program in osteopathy at the Canadian College of Osteopathy. The program involved 2 years of research in the latter part of the degree and the mastering of theoretical, practical, and clinical skills. His thesis focused on comparing the effect of osteopathy versus fascia scar release treatment methods on the postural balance of women experiencing chronic pain following a hysterectomy. He has also been involved in teaching educational courses to other physiotherapists for several years. Abbas continues to extend his knowledge in various sports injury and manual therapy skills.
